Iris Van Herpen’s haute couture Spring 2012 runway show was unveiled on one of the many catwalks of Paris fashion week.
Her creative combination of materials and craftsmanship make her extraordinaire, her dresses (sculptures) are even exposed as pieces of art in museums, she will soon have an exhibition in Holland and has been awarded 3 times the dutch fashion award Den Hegue.
This collection between metal, plastic, fabric and wood was a dress construction wonderland, between alien and the future she proposes the Haute Couture of the future, and she is very young (1984), I am sure there are more surprises to come.

Dutch designer Iris van Herpen presented by Mercedes-Benz and ELLE.
The shooting star, who is already being celebrated as a fashion prodigy, recently stole the show at the haute couture shows in Paris – and finally mesmerized the German audience at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Van Herpen’s models floated down the runway to electronic sounds draped in futuristic designs made of metal silk, polyamide powder, and smoked leather. Numerous celebrities such as Karoline Herfurth, Hannah Herzsprung, and Monika Griefhahn were on hand to experience the exceptional show, which turned into the most-discussed event over cocktails in the Mercedes-Benz lounge held in cooperation with fashion magazine ELLE.
In 2009 she won an award at the Dutch Fashion Awards, and returned in 2010 to receive another three. This year her schedule includes an exhibition at the Groninger museum as well as the launch of her very own book. Suffice to say we’ll be seeing a lot more of the talented designer considering she is still only in her twenties!
