Emporio Armani marked the opening of its new boutique on Rue Saint Honore on Thursday night with a concert by Pixie Geldof. “I’m worried they might be a bit slow and the people want something more upbeat,” Geldof said before her performance. Dressed in a printed Emporio Armani shift dress and thick black wooly tights, the British model, socialite and singer then proceeded to belt out in perfect pitch a number of ballads to a rapturous crowd. “I really enjoyed that,” she beamed afterwards, adding that she plans to release two singles under the name Violet in April, and possibly an album at the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Anna-Catherine Hartley, a.k.a. Uffie, revealed she is working on a new album, set for release in August or September. “The title of the album is the last thing I choose,” said Uffie, adding that Philippe Zdar from French band Cassius was remixing some of the tracks. After the store cocktail, guests including Roberta Armani and Dolores Chaplin rocked on over to trendy Paris club Raspoutine for dinner and dancing.
