Emporio Armani Ready-To-Wear Autumn/Winter 2012-13, Milan Fashion Week

Emporio Armani Fashion show - There was just as much going on with every look too – Armani said in his notes that the collection was “animated by fun, ironic touches, alluding to the roaring Twenties, made all the more unpredictable by the addition of Bermudas”.

A grey rabbit fur jacket appeared alongside an identical red one, both with huge fringing hanging from the hem. Navy and black was a strong theme, worn piled up together – chiffon vests over blouses with bright floral corsages, over the same long tailored shorts. One coral velvet coat alluded to Milan’s dandy trend, while another pyramid shaped, tiered black coat looked like it would hide a multitude of anything.
Glittering fringed low-waisted dresses let the Armani party get started, while ruffled tops and dresses that bustled up at the front to show off shorts beneath were wrapped in long, mannish cardigans.
Fuchsia and black elbow-length gloves and big bags will lead the accessories story next season, while a blue check spread randomly on shorts and long shirts broke up the sombre palette again, and a team of multicoloured sheepskin gilets and coats added a welcome injection of casual.
