New York Fashion Week - American football star and model Victor Cruz cut the ribbon to open New York's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The fashion proceedings got underway with stars including Sarah Jessica Parker and Heidi Klum making their way to New York's Cipriani Wall Street, where the amFAR gala took place.
Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli received an award for Courage, for his outstanding contribution to the fight against AIDS. Guests also watched a video tribute to late actress and style icon Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who was the organization's founding international chairman.
Another New York Fashion Week staple taking place February 8 was the Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection Fashion Show, the event which sees famous faces take to the runway wearing red gowns by some of America's best-known designers to raise awareness of heart disease.
Stars including Rose McGowan, Minka Kelly, Rebecca Romijn and supermodel Christie Brinkley starred in the show, with Brinkley taking a slight tumble but soon recovering as she took to the stage -- see the video here courtesy of The Telegraph.
